My computer (I think) behaving a little weird

Twice this morning I've been on Cyclechat and clicked to add a smiley face and ended up instead on a weird site. First time was something about web cams, the second time it was about betting. Have I got a virus?

Just try clearing your browswer data which for Chrome is under tools in the dropdown menu

Check the extensions. There are sites which will sneak advertising ones into the browser. Get rid of anything you haven't installed yourself.

I've just had a look at history and found the following....

Sorry - click the menu icon (the one with 3 bars in the top right), then go to Tools, then Extensions. If there's anything you don't recognise, get rid of it.

Actually looking at the history I got the first one immediately after doing the BBC quiz ... could that be linked?

Ok, if its Chrome, at the top right are 3 horizontal bars. CLick it and in the drop down menu is Tools. From there I'd start with Clear Browsing Data. Restart Chrome. If no joy, I'd go to Extensions in the same Tools list. If there's anything you don;t recognise, disable it.
