Apologies if this is the wrong area but I feel it is related to my commute.
I've been a leisure cyclist, club and solo anything to 100 miles or so, for 20 years. Fortunately this has been trouble free to dare.
Having been diagnosed as epileptic this summer I cannot drive for 12 months. Consequently I took to train and cycle for my commute. It's around 25 miles a day but can vary.
Not long after starting to commute my feet began to hurt. It's discomfort really on the top of the foot from just below the ankle, along the left side to just before the big toe. Both feet are affected. Feels a bit like wearing ill fitting shoes.
Over the weekend the discomfort wears off leaving a slight stiffness. By Monday night it's back.
I haven't changed bike set up, shoes or anything except I'm riding more frequently over shorter distance - I'm usually confined to the club run.
I feel this must be connected to the commute but after four months I would have expected my feet to have adjusted to this?
I ride a road bike and SPDs.
Any ideas out there. I'm happy to buy new shoes but would prefer to avoid this unless essential.
