Hello!
I'm back from a week in Morayshire, so thought I'd do a post about it.
We had some fantastic weather and I got out every day on the bike. There were lots of woods and trails, as well as a nice ride along the river Nairn.
I had one off, I've already posted a little about it but I'll include it again, just so you can all laugh a bit harder
It happened in Lochloy woods. I cycled along a trail by the side of the shoreline and accessed the woods from there.
They were beautiful, some nice paths and equally, some wild areas. I rode on both, and had fun tearing round, navigating tree roots, up and down inclines and generally just having a ball!
There was no-one else there (I passed a chap with 3 dogs heading out as I headed in) and it was so serene with just the noise of my tyres crunching on the gravel, to break the silence.
I was really pleased with myself and was still grinning as I made my way out of the woods down a steep incline and back to the shoreline path. I sort of forgot that ‘shoreline’ means sand.
As I descended my back wheel hit a deep patch of sand and the bike sank into it and ground to a sudden halt.
Unfortunately I didn’t!
I haven’t had an off for some time and I forgot how it feels! There’s a slow motion feeling, when you know you’re going down, then you hit the deck and lay there, thinking WTF just happened? Why am I down here?
Then you remember!
I laughed so much…mainly at my own stupidity, but also with relief, as (a) I had forgotten to switch the action cam on and (b) there was no-one around to witness my undignified dismount!
I suffered nothing more than a couple of nice bruises, of which I can only show you one, without losing any more dignity!
Bruise!
It didn’t stop me riding and the good weather meant I was out every day, so I won’t ramble any further, I’ll let the photos do the talking!

No Priscilla, you can't go for a swim!

This was the third year we'd been to Morayshire but the first time I'd taken a bike.
I'd love to go back and do more riding in the area but I think it would be so much more fun with some biking friends!
