Cycling home last night I came to the conclusion that I had somehow upset The Lord of the Flies and he was sending all his minions out to attack me!

I had to keep my mouth shut for most of my journey or I would have eaten most of them!

I have a nice summer one (cool, UV material) and use it all the time as the flies and bugs flying around the canal at this time of year are in swarms at times!!

Yup had that, I had one fly into my ear this morning, nearly hit the kerb trying to get it out!
My commute is through the countryside though so shouldn't complain being a city boy.

There was some random chap getting a tow from me and my mate yesterday - he jumped on without saying hello and sat there for about 3 miles until I took a fly in the mouth and had to spit it out..... needless to say, he didn't bid us a friendly farewell either!

As horses are vegetarian, you're basically just adding veg to the protein, therefore a horsefly is a balanced meal. And probably one of your five a day.

I once copped for a wasp trapped in the arm of my glasses, the damn thing was trying to sting its way to freedom, my temple was a mess for a good few days after.

Was stung by a bee with ten miles to go once hurt like hell.

I was also stung on the head when a bee got stuck under the lip of my helmet, still have a lump where i was stung.

I've been headbutted by two bumblebees and one wasp in the last ten days.

Actually one of the bees was taken in the shoulder, quite a hit for such a light thing, all in all.
