My new bike chain.

I have recently bought a new chain for my bike. Being new to bike maintenance I think I may have bought the wrong one. I got a shimano xtr and my derailleur says its a shimano tiagra. Do you think it would still be compatible or should I change it?

the only thing that matters is that the chain is the correct width for your transmission. So, if your transmission is 9-speed, then you need a 9-speed compatible chain, and so on...

Shold be fine as long as its the same length and the gearing is the same 9spd for 9spd and so on worth looking at your cassette teeth to see that they aren't warn I'm running campagnolo setup with a kmc chain

Yeah the gearing is definetly correct, the new chain is of 9 speed and my gearing system is of 9 speed. So should this be alright?
