Have to say that it's been a very fraught pregnancy and birth but finally this afternoon I took delivery of my new bike.....

Completely agree, managed to change the white bar tape to black but after the 'tense discussions' surrounding the upgrade to Ultegra I thought it best to let that one go... will get a black one in the next couple of days.

They look like BB7 brakes.
If you haven't used them before then take a little time to do a bit of You Tubing to get to know how they work, replace pads and to dial in.
For replacement pads. DiscoBrakes have them at great cheap prices.

Yup, it's a CX bike need to change the tires but still debating on what to.... GatorSkins, Armadillo or Marathon's. Bike will spend most of its time as a fast commuter with stints as a tourer.

Yes they are BB7. Was going to ask at some point about breaking them in. Read somewhere that its best to do X to them to get the best out if them but need to re-find the post.

Just need to get up to a little speed and give them a good pull a couple of times. Doesn't take long.
Be warned though, in the rain they SQUEAL!

Ah yes - saw that on Evans the other week and very nice it is too. I think theirs had Apex gears plus a black saddle. Long may you enjoy what is a rather unusual looking bike and all the better for it.

I run 32mm Marathon Supremes on my CX bike and they are top notch.
