After reading far too many reviews and test riding a couple if other bikes, I finally took delivery of my Genesis Croix de Fer this morning. It's the 1st drop handle bar bike I've had in about 20 years and so far I am absolutely loving it. Managed to get in a quick 15 miler this afternoon and took 6 minutes off of my previous best that i done on my old Raleigh hybrid. Looking forward to putting in many happy miles on my new bike....watch this space.

I'll be intersted to find out how you get on with it, I am currently looking at a new bike - primarily a CX with disc brakes.

Looks lovely

Great bike, I have the 2012 version and love it so far!!! I put on 25mm road tyres, SKS mudguards and Topeak disc rack, great do-it-all bike!
Weight is probably the only issue although you don't really notice it while riding.
Have they removed the extra brake levers for the 2013 model?

Hi Nico, I went with a set of SKS guards too, although you will see that I had to cut off the front section due to lack of clearance with the original 35mm cross tyres. They have lost the brake pulls from the centre of the handlebar, but having never had them in the past I'm not sure for me it's an issue.

With 25mm tyres the SKS guards fit fine, I just had to be a bit creative to put the stays around the discs. I'm surprised there are no disc specific guards yet! Here's mine in Bridlington after completing the Way of the Roses last Spring
