Ive never broke a phone screen and it lives in my pocket...

I've always said the same until I smashed the screen on my old S3............. from a height of 30cm. It dropped almost flat to the floor but one edge hit first.

Absolutely gutted but it was in the last week of my contract so a good excuse to get a new phone.

Maybe unless it's a ruggedized one with gorilla glass but I think they never sold well.

S3 had it and it still smashed

I moved to the dark side just last week and bought a Samsung Galaxy. I needed a new phone anyway as my old one kept switching itself off so thought perhaps it was time to join the 21st century.

I can see certain advantages but not sure it has really added anything extra to my life. I'm impressed by the camera but using it seriously hurts the already poor battery life.

Inertia

I feel like I could... TAKE ON THE WORLD!!
Me neither. I'm always amazed by the people I see with cracked screens: what the hell do you do to your phones???
I foolishly put it down on the kitchen counter and when my wife opened the cupboard above a spice jar dropped and bounced off the counter and landed on the floor. About 5 minutes later I realised that in a wild hundred to one shot it had hit the screen and smashed the lower edge.

I lived with it till the contract ran out

and i now put the phone face down if I do put it down.
