This is my safety stand at work. Badly Wiggins -v- Tommy Goodwin. Geddit??? LOL. He has a split personality. One side "Stealth Cyclist", other side "Hi Viz cyclist" You like him?

Couldn't you have a bit about some road users needing to go to specsavers? I understand poor vision is more common on the roads than we'd like to believe.

Not a criticism of your effort just an attempt at being constructive.

I know you're coming at it from a lycra and visibilty point of view, but the bad guy could be wearing dangly clothing to get caught in his wheels (scarf?), or a coat that covers up any rear light he might have - harder to show off the bike, I know....

Neatly done though!

Not sure what make, it's not mine, borrowed from a mate.

I only had two days to get it done, and no budget, but the whole point of it was because some of the cyclists at work are riding out at night all in black with no lights, so they asked me to do something to highlight to them the difference and get them to think about it. It went down very well today. Firstly because they were attracted by the bright flashing lights on the "good" bike and then, i think because there were no posters explaining it (other than the name tag on each side), people stopped and actually looked him up and down, and realised how much more visible he was on the right side (or his left) and a lot of people stopped and chatted to each other about it. I actually think it got more people chatting than the real mini they had "crashed" into the wall because the driver hadn't checked his tyres! and that one did have a budget! LOL but the two of them together made a really good "Why wouldn't you?" display and it was a very simple concept. So I was well pleased with it. Also all of my bike maintenance and cycle safety leaflets went too, which is good, so I will have to get some more done tomorrow.

We gave him a new name. Just one name. Lance Halfwrong. Someone got upset we used Tommy cuz he just died, although I did check with a close friend of Tommy's of 40 yrs because he comes from our area, and I guessed people would know him personally, and the friend said he thought Tommy would be proud to be part of my safety stand; nonetheless, we decided we didn't want someone to be sitting at their desk all upset, so we changed it. I kinda like the new name better.
