Surely you need to find some middle-ground TD setting so that you're not "changing gear like crazy compared to outside"...?

I don't change gear much outside either. I think it's a hang-up from battling with downtube shifters in my formative cycling years - and not wanting to drop the chain by shifting ring when the chain's really under tension. Since I bought my Cervelo last September, I've done one hillclimb race in the little ring (and others in the big ring), but otherwise I don't think I've touched the left-hand lever!

It is a VERY rare ride where I don't use both rings, and I am usually changing gears at the rear every few minutes at most, frequently more often than that.

IMO, gears are there to be used.

This is my take on it too. Try to keep indoors as natural as possible.

I am still looking for a small, cheap, programmable Bluetooth keypad to use as a virtual gear selector in MyWhoosh. It needs to emulate the 'I' and 'K' keys on a keyboard. I do have a spare keyboard but would prefer to have the equivalent of a Zwift Click attached to my handlebar. Any suggestions?

I will definitely be going for hundreds of Mb/s once the tech guys have finished pushing fibres down the local drains and connected them up!

It is incredible how quickly technology has improved - I remember how excited I was to get 1 Mb/s broadband in 2003! (Mind you that was a huge step up from what I had been used to, which was a poxy 30-40 kb/s.)
They seem to have finished pushing the fibres through the drains and now new roadside boxes are appearing locally. It shouldn't be too long now before I can upgrade!

I still haven't found any small/cheap programmable Bluetooth keypads to use for virtual gear shifting. I will use my Bluetooth keyboard until I find something suitable.

Successfully completed an hours workout on MyWhoosh this evening - a new 4GB download was needed but it whooshed down the broadband and I was on in no time at all. The issue I had previously of the menu/buttons becoming unworkable mid ride didn’t recur. My only gripe is that the auto-upload to Strava (and GARMIN) contained only the distance and heart rate data. I deleted and tried downloading the fit file from the mywhoosh website and even that had the same missing data. 🤔

I phoned to check today. I was told that fibre should be available in my street by the end of June, or early July. The intermediate packages cost less than I am currently paying for my slow 'copper' connection but will be scores of times faster. The top speed package will be hundreds of times faster but cost about £8/month more. I'll see how I get on and decide later if I want to spend extra for max speed.

I finished watching the women's ToB on iPlayer today. The final stage was a 10 lap circuit race in Glasgow with twists and turns and short steep climbs. That's the kind of thing that I might enjoy on my smart trainer, but only if the other riders/bots were down at my kind of level!

Blimey, that's a lot less than Plusnet are offering. I am currently paying over £28/month for my 7 Mb/s on copper!!

Who was that with?

I'm paying Plusnet £41 per month, but that does include a landline with unlimited calls to standard UK numbers and mobiles - and I get 65-70Mb download speed.

We get only copper at our house and around 7mbs.

I decided to go with 4g mobile initially now upgraded to 5g router which has slightly improved speed to 120mbs up and down, what it has improved, is bandwidth, so everything we use functions well, security, Internet, dedicated equipment needing Internet access
