n+1 winter bike

Anyone have any thoughts for / against the following bike for winter rather than using my PX ?

Work has just introduced the C2W scheme so can use that to fund purchase...

My winter bike has disc brakes so all the grit and crud dont munch through the wheek rims.

Poss something to think about.

I think the C2W limit is £1k?

But that bike is too nice to be a winter bike.

There's no rule that the Summer bike should always be the better and/or more expensive bike.

I'd be looking at the cross bike although it is more expensive.

Can certainly recommend the Planet X although I think they add a surcharge if you're not using their scheme.

I just got a cannondale synapse 105 disc for winter use, it looks good, but havent riddeb it yet so cant comment on ride.

I know, just made me chuckle, my old Saracen mtb with city jet tyres will suffice for me! ( although if I could get away with it I too would have "nice winter bike")

I don't ride on wet winter days so all of my bikes are fine (I do have 3), even the carbon as I believe they only melt in rain, not cold

The exercise bike is for wet winter days
