If you get a laptop off ebay and when it arrives it has a broken lid because the numpty you bought it from has packed it by wrapping it up in cushioned material but with the charger on the lid so there are two vertical lines running down the screen but you look it up on youtube and sure enough there are two vids showing how you can fix it by taking the screen out and reattaching loose wires with sticky tape or alternatively by using a business card to prop it so you take the lid apart and the wires look fine and there's nowhere obvious a business card makes any difference so you put it all back together, you discover that in little over an hour you can fix it so now it has *four* vertical lines.
