Nearly wiped out this morning

Had a dangerous overtake that scared the life out of me this morning. It left me quite shaken.

Think I'm going to pop into the police station on the way home and report.

Do people think it's worth the hassle? I've got video.

It was in my similar situation. I phoned 101 and reported it and they had a quiet word with the lowlife. As he had threatened me they advised me to ring 999 if I ever felt in danger in the future. I was more than pleased with the outcome to be honest.

Glad you're ok. I would report it via 101 as chances are it will get taken further.

If you're thinking about reporting it with video evidence then go & do so. In the worst case you'll be told to go away, which may be frustrating but hardly the end of the world, but if you don't do something the police can't do anything about it.

I do, I think at the least they should get a knock at the door and a word - then they may drive a little safer in the future. It could stop them hurting someone!

A stronger position does help stop these things but that doesn't excuse dangerous driving. You can be hugging the kerb and should fully expect not to be put in danger by a close pass.

You did nothing wrong there.
You had good road position and didn't hog the lane unnecessarily.
I always find it hard to judge just how close these passes are on videos but it clearly scared you enough to shout
at the driver so I'd report it if I were you.
I doubt anything will be done but you never know.

Crap driving there, timing the overtake to coincide with meeting an oncoming car. No wonder you were shaken.
