Just popped over to the school site to retrieve this wonderful 'all action' photo...

Here's the text.
Rugby - 1st XV 1972 in action...
This photograph is from Jim Ritchie, who writes: "[This is a} first fifteen school match played at home against (I think) Hampton Grammar School in about 1972. HCGS players are from left to right: Gareth Rees, Trevor Finbow, Martin Flack (with ball), Jim Ritchie (partly obscured), Pat Rees, Mike Hardy, Steve Rigby (partly obscured), Steve Campbell and Nick Bush."
So. Gareth Rees is now a QC - my closest friend. Trevor moved to Devon later that year - probably spreads muck and drives a Range Rover now - he was a tough boy. Moi: static and unknowing (nothing's changed!) Jim Ritchie - don't know where he is, but his brother Andrew (a year above me) has recently retired

Pat Rees, brother of Gareth, was senior partner at Lewis Silkin before 'oddballing' to Wales, loafing and je ne sais quoi, Mike Hardy - don't know. Steve Rigby is Deputy Headmaster of Preston Manor High School in Wembley,
Steve Campbell is Senior teacher at Harrow High, which is what my school became. (I wouldn't have him as a teacher - he was a ba$tard...

One person who was invariably on the touchline was the late Merlyn Rees, father of Pat and Gareth. I'm going to cry now as I wanna be young again...
