Need to replace brakes on my Dawes Galaxy

Hi, I am looking to replace both front and rear cantilever brakes on my 2005/6 Dawes Galaxy, I seen these

Tektro Cr720's

These are advertised as cycle cross cantilevers, which my bike isn't, but I read in another forum someone advising Tekro cr520's as a replacement and I think that these are sort of identical to them?
I was wondering if they would be suitable for this bike. Also can anyone recomend a decent cable set for this bike as well?
Can anyone help me out?

Those would be fine. They don't have the stopping power of the Tektro Oryx's which may well be what you are replacing, but they are a bit better modulated and less temperamental to set up.

They'll be perfect for your Galaxy. They're pretty much identical to the ones I used to have on mine. As for cables, any bike shop will sell you a couple of cable inners (ask for brake cables for drop bar levers, assuming that's what you're using) and a few metres of cable outer. Doubtless you can get Gore Tex lined teflon coated nuclear powered cable outer, but I've always used bog standard stuff and it works for me.
