Already looking to upgrade the derailleurs but not sure what too ? Also the tyres fitted to the bike are continental road tyres ut i will be doing some iff road stuff so wondered if you guys can point me in the right direction of replacement tyres and rims so i can quick change the wheels

TBH if it 'aint broke don't fix it. I'd service it by means of new cables and a brake service for peace of mind, but other than that if eveything works, (although bits may be dated), i'd leave alone until neccessity forces your hand.

I'd keep my eyes open on ebay and such in case any bargains came up, then you can grab them and have them 'on stock' ready for when something breaks

Several questions:
Firstly, why do you want to upgrade? The reason I ask is because you will be facing a number of priorities depending on what you want out of the bike.

For example, if you want longevity from the bits for not as lot of money the bike spec is already pretty good, if a little basic.

If you want to save a bit of weight then you can start with the bits that'll be wearing out, depending on how much the bike has been used, and of course what it's been used for.

If you want to ride hardcore trails then some of the parts will be fine, and need replacing only when they break or wear out.

Next of course is budget. How much have you got to spend? Even sensible upgrades for that bike will be costing a few hundred quid.

For example, if you want to lighten it all up a bit the wheels and tyres would be a good place to start. You have a choice of course, and it's your money, but you can get lightweight wheels for 100 to 150 quid. Try some of the online bargains for Fulcrum Red Metals, FSA XCs, or treat yourself to a pair of Superstar Components Switch for less than £150. Your current wheels are centrelock brake rotor mounting, so you'll need to buy new rotors as well, unless you can find a bargain pair of XTs.

The chainset I'd swap for a Hollowtech Deore. Lighter, stiffer and with an external BB. You can get them for 60 quid if you shop round. Another 30 quid will get you an SLX from Chain Reaction, or one of the fleabay sellers like the Woollyhatshop or Absolute.

Leave the front mech unless it doesn't work anymore. Swap the rear for a Shimano SLX, about 35 quid, less if you're lucky. Fit a SRAM PC971 chain. You can get them off fleabay for half price, about 15 quid. As light and strong as Shimano, but don't fall apart halfway down a red run!!!!

The rest would be down to personal choice, and intended use. The brakes are fine by the way.

Personally I'd start with the wheels if you can, then the chainset, then the mechs, but only if they don't work!

As for the forks, well, see first if they work for what YOU want them to do. If you read online reviews you won't be happy until you've paid £800 for a pair of SID World Cup, but unless you're racing those Suntour will be just fine until you want to ride harder and faster. If they turn out to be oversprung, underdamped or whatever based on YOUR experience of them, then I'd be tempted to look for a pair of bargain Tora or Reba if you're feeling flush.

n upgrader's tip. Flog everything you take off on ebay. You'll halve your costs.

As im new to biking what would be the best upgrade for the gearing, currently have shimano deore ?

Is it not working? If you really want to upgrade from Deore/LX your looking at Shimano SLX, Shimano XT, Shimano or XTR, or you could fit SRAM mechs, in which case you'd be looking at SRAM X7, SRAM X9 or SRAM XX 10 as equivalents.

I might be out of sync with the mech names as I've been away from MTB's for a while, but if I am someone will correct me

Have a look on youtube, there are loads of really useful videos for virtually anything you can think of, from setting up gears to wrapping handlebar tape. It's bailed me out loads of times
