yes its strange, it won't open in the browser it goes straight to download, must be a setting somewhere, or its something to do with my Lubuntu operating system.

It sounds like VLC player has associated itself with .swf files - see if there's a way to break that association or re-associate them with your browser.

Same here. And I'm on a mac thing tonight so can't even find a way to do a sad smiley. I give up with these bloody computers!

Simple setting change in firefox, very good
