We had a wood pigeon lay an egg in our pergola ... though she seemed to omit the nest building stage ... with the obvious consequences of the egg falling to the ground below presumably just after laying it. At least she seems to have learnt from her mistake and gone elsewhere to build a nest.

I put up two bird boxes in the garden about 3 years back. Ones a wooden house, the other a grass-style wren teardrop nest. No birds this year that I've noticed. Always intended to use the HQ2 cam on a stick and have a closer gander without disturbing them.

Saw wrens in the garden for the first time last year though.
