WooHoo... I just completed my first week of commuting the 10 mile journey to work. I've been doing it just one way and getting the train back but I am so pleased that I've managed it all week. I've not felt at all tired instead I'm up and at 'em every morning at 6 o'clock...

Thanks for all your encouragement and warm welcome. I'm not new to cycling but have just pootled locally and I have a folder and I use that to commute at each end of my train journey. But for ages I've been thinking that I'd get a hybrid and attempt the ten miles. I'm lucky because we have showers at work and I have a spacious locker. So I took the plunge this week.

It's been such a high to be taking that shower, freshening up and then sitting at my desk with all those endorphins coursing through the blood stream.

I have felt fantastic this week in every way.

Just hope I keep it up...

I love the oxygen rush/endorphin hit in the morning, compared to the half-awake option of driving.

Congratulations. Every time I manage a five day, 7 miles each way commute, I treat myself to a Friday morning fry-up at the canteen at work. Which makes cycling in even better.

Now you just need to talk about heart failure and sedentary retirement to all the car users in the office, just to make things seem even better.

6am is the best time of the day, imho
Well done bb you'll soon be doing the return leg as well I started 4 months ago 9 miles each way intending to do 2 days a week within 2 weeks was doing every day possible.
5am for me, lucky if I see 2 other cyclists on way in,1 of which I have only ever seen riding on the pavement even though there's very little traffic about, the other always nods or says hi usually see him near Cheadle.
