Hi everyone,

A couple of months ago I started a thread (https://www.cyclechat.net/) for advice about which expedition bike I ought to go for.

I set out looking for an aluminum frame, 700c wheels and disc brakes.

I've now ordered the bike, and should have it in the next 3/4 weeks! Through lots of consideration and thought I have gone for a Thorn Raven Nomad - and really cannot wait for it to arrive! (It's a steel frame, 26" wheels and v-brakes... complete opposite of my initial spec!)

Many thanks for all of you who gave me good advice on that previous thread!

I'll be doing a tour of Britain this summer (in which I'll finally get my long-over-due LEJOG done), which should be great for getting to know the new bike and such

couple quality cable locks are best not to heavy and lock it to something thats solid .

It has been argued that two locks of different construction should be used i.e. a cable lock and a D-lock as bike thieves tend to be equipped to deal with one type of lock and not two.

100% true well worth hunting around for both types .
to be sure ,to be sure.
