Just wondering about a new roady. Is there a best time of year, when new ranges come out and last years models are sold off?

Old season stock usually goes on sale from about October onwards, just as the new specs are released.

I bought a 2010 Specialized Secteur in January 2011 and was lucky to find one in the frame size I wanted at a discount. As monnet says, October onwards, but don't leave it too late.

I recently bought a new Spesh too, the store had 2 in stock a 2011 Large & a 2010 XL, the XL was much better fit. LBS knocked me fair chunk off the price, had a few extras added on & all still came to £150 less then the 2011..
Try looking for a shop that has a few 'old' models in stock

The best time to buy was last October. Otherwise, you are waiting 6 months and missing 6 months of potentially glorious riding to save £50? £100? Unless you are buying a seriously top end bike, buy the bike you want when you want it and when you are going to use it.

But then, I already have a bike, 4 in fact... Long time since I bought one though, No4 is my hack, built from donors. Just think I NEED a new roadie, but I can wait.
