I have already posted this in another forum but with no real advice except the boardman reccomendation so i thought i would try here

I am signing up for the cycle to work scheme again intending to get me a road bike this time

(after riding my cannondale caad 10 for leisure rides my commute on the g.t. xcr mtb seems a slog)

royal mail only allow 500 and from halfords so which of these 3 would you say is the best for buck

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_840921_langId_-1_categoryId_165710

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_810675_langId_-1_categoryId_165710

or this

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_810677_langId_-1_categoryId_165710

is the limited edition r.r.p £599 just because it's lmt edition or is it a better spec

which is better bang for buck out the 3
someone also suggested the boardman hybrid at £499 but will i get the speed and easy commute that i would with a road bike

many thanks for any help

yes - the boardman weighs in at approx 10kg which is road bike weight - along with the skinny tyres and road gearing - its an excellent, comfortable flat barred roady

wish i could comment but the newest bike in stable is around 15 yrs old .

boardman looks good , but must admit looked at the Carrera's in halfords last week , when collecting bike box and they looked very nice .

As a Carrea Virtuoso Ltd Edotion owner im going to give it my vote
Nice steady bike for the money, not the lightest but very smooth through the gears and good to ride.
At £350 from £600 its worth a stab.
