Well its two weeks old as I collected it just before I went on holiday for two weeks in Greece, but managed to get a quick 35 mile test ride in before I went

Its a Trek Domane 5.2, and its wonderful, really nice and comfortable and fast

mind you its a 62cm so it looks huge!

Very nice! I saw a Trek Domane 5.2 in my LBS window over the weekend as well - lovely looking bike.

So did you notice an appreciable difference with the Domane's IsoSpeed stuff giving a smoother ride?

On the topic of new bikes, I picked-up my Trek Madone 2.1 at the weekend and took it for a ride yesterday. I'm impressed so far, but as it's my first foray into the world of road bikes I've got nothing to compare it to!

Hi,

I rode the madone and domane back to back before I bought the domane.

The isospeed makes a huge difference (or did to me), the same roads felt like the difference between riding a race bike and riding a sofa, but didnt have any appreciable effect on speed.

Ok, not that different, but thats how the bike mags would put it, but yes made a big difference, hence the choice over the madone, I also have a back issue following an operatio, so having the correct size means it may look huge, but the overall effect of it all was well worth the cost!

also did my first test ride up to Potters Bar which has some crap roads and steep hills and it seemed to work really well - but I need to get fitter to get the full value
