Hi all,
I've almost finished building my S-works sl3 frame and am currently running a normal 53/39 chainset and a 11-23 cassette, however I'm a little confused regarding chain length, I don't know how long to shorten it by. My intention is to buy a 11-28 cassette and swap as and when needed depending on the type of terrain I'll be cycling on, so say if I run a 11-23 cassette and adjust the chain for that, won't that mean the chain will be too short for a 11-28 on 53/28?

Thanks for the replies guys, great help. That bike chain calculator is extremely handy, another great site added to my bookmarks. I think I may install a 11-28 cassette on a permanent basis. It's pretty hilly here in Wales (as you'd expect!!) so the 28 will be suitable for me.
