New chain - to lube or not to lube

... that is the question!

Just fitted a new 5701 Shimano chain.

I usually lube a new chain out of habit, but as it seems to be pre-lubed I'm wondering if this is necessary?

The lube already on the chain will usually last a couple of hundred miles.. in the dry.

no ,,use it as is ,the factory lube is much better than aftermarket stuff ,,all ul b doing is diluting whats on their already ,lube it when u need to ,and thats not now :thumbsup:

Cool Jim. That's exactly what I'd been thinking... That's what I've been doing in the past - replacing the good stuff with my own. And there was no need to! :rolleyes:
