Bloody hell - that merc was a bit close near the end. Going some too...

The bus driving was very poor. I must admit though, I'd have hit the brakes and slotted behind it rather than continuing up the side.

Actually looking again, it was wet and your brakes may have been affected, so probably nothing you could do.

You get some weeks where you get a few incidents together, and then you get some weeks where everyone drives like an angel. There seems to be no pattern to it.

Magnatom: All of the 'interactions' with motorized vehicles involved grabbing a handful of brake. I just wasn't going to slow down quicker than a bus in those conditions (my first shout was manly and authoritative with a slight squeak towards the end - my second shout was the reason I removed the sound).

Hackers (if I may) it's a viosport camera with a DV500 from dogcamsport.

Actually the final incident doesn't look as bad as it was as I bailed as he came past, to the extent that I locked up the rear. I was going at the motorized vehicle speed limit at the time...

cripes. the merc was a real shocker given his speed and the conditions...must've come as a bit of a surprise given the supposed traffic-calming humps in the road!

what happened in the first sequence? looks like E&C roundabout...one of the few junctions I'll actively avoid as its usually complete chaos round there. do you think the black car moved across the lane deliberately or was it just another SMIDSY?

It was Elephant and Castle. I think it was a case of someone trying moderately hard to get their nose in front of the cyclist in order that the cyclist would then slip from existence and no longer require any consideration.

I would be quite happy to avoid E&C but the routes I've come across so far throw up other dangers and inconveniences and prove to be a lot slower.

The E&C has got better IMO in the last few years - the lights have helped as have the increased volumes of cyclists. The gyratory at Wandsworth Bridge is still pretty exciting though...

I had a similar incident with a 59 bus last week...

I used to use the Wandsworth system fairly often. It was one of those places where the faster you go the easier it is. Though I once came off there after catching my rear wheel on an underground cable, I wouldn't be surprised if the roads round there are in the same sort of condition now after the recent weather i.e. potholes large enough to lose a Volvo in.

Yep, coming down from Trinity Road 30mph is not a problem - it's just the manic lane changing you've got to watch out for...
