hi I've been looking at some bikes in halfords and I'm looking for advice on what to go for I like the look of carrera crossfire 1 can anyone recommend to me the best bike around this price range around £250 thanks

That makes me want to answer "both kinds" It's a good question, I'd just phrase it "What kinds of riding?".

@Marvin028, Generally it's regarded that shocks aren't needed for most kind of non-technical riding, at that shocks at that price point will be heavy and not very effective. Presuming you are looking at roads and canals or well made cycle paths, I think a rigid frame would be better. I'd suggest the reliable Subway if you want to shop at Halfords. Decathlon is another good shop in your price range.
