Hi there,
I am a new rider in the Billericay area.
Been inspired by all the cyclists i have seen around the area, and a recent article i read that said something like "have you ever seen a fat cyclist?"
My answer to myself was "not in lycra on a road bike", lol.
I did a load of reading here before i eventually got myself a nice Trek 1.2 second hand.
My goal really is to find an exercise that i enjoy to lose a few pounds and get fit, i'm only 5 pounds overweight, but even so i have found the first week a struggle, though i understand it gets easier fairly fast as my muscles get used to some exercise
I have owned the bike for just over 1 week now, been out 5 times already varying from 40 minutes to 1.5 hours so far.
Longest distance so far has been 16 miles, with lots of getting lost in the country lanes.
I am thoroughly enjoying myself and look forward to getting out on the bike.
I am just about to join the local cycling club as well
so hello from me
