After poor old Buster shuffled off this mortal coil we eventually started the hunt for a new dog. We have always had rescue dogs, and set about looking for something that filled the criteria for the Cube household. Knine and Kitty Care have a network of fosterers ready to take in candidates from any kennels in the area with a destruction policy, and after a few false starts we have very happily taken on this looker. Originally billed as an 18 month old Labrador x collie, (experts eh!) Bramble is, as far as we can work out, a whippet lurcher cross and nearer 8 years old. She needs a bit of vet work, but is extremely biddable and placid. She loves exercise, and gets up to 3 hours a day..... Here she is watching Cubester and hius buddies thrash Driffield RUFC in the Yorkshire Cup quarter final.

Ok, it's not a rabbit, but she's cute. Hope she brings you and the family much fun for many years Cubist.

No Kitty dear, not a rabbit!

She is, as anyone can see, a Big Issue Seller's Tripehound. Cubette lost her collar one morning and she spent the day out wearing a big spotty hanky as a bandanna.

The woman who fostered her worked on our handheld data project, and as she trained us all in the use of our Blackberries, Bramble somehow seemed an apt name.

We wanted a much younger dog, and it's come as a bit of a shock that she's as old as the vet thinks she is.

Looks like a good addition to the family, Cubist!

Hope you get plenty of fun with her and, not least to say, exercise!

Mrs Cube takes her for half an hour in the morning, Both kids take her at least once a day each after school, Cubester with his mates with longdogs, and Emily with her friend with a fat Spaniel.

I get a lovely hour before bedtime on a favourite loop of mine that takes me up over the moorland and down a long track. I'd got out of the habit of decent long walks when Buster couldn't manage much in the way of distance. Great way to unwind, but I've had to treat myself to a long waterproof coat.

She's beautiful! congratulations on the new addition

Lovely to see someone taking on an older dog too, they still have so much left to give.
