In the market for gloves, never wore any for cycling before so not sure what im looking for - dont want to go mad and spend loads £20 - £30 but want some that are fit for purpose etc.

I am a Specialized fanboy so would prefer that brand.............. ( i can hear the groans now!)

Thanks in anticipation

I'm not a Spec fan but have to (begrudgingly) admit that their BG Pro mitts are very good. My preferred choice in fact.

Edit: I'm assuming it's road mitts that you're after.

Im a big fan of Pearl Izumi for gloves.
Fits like a glove, great control and comfort. (Sorry forgot what model I have).
I like them soo much that I even wear them when going for a 2 minute trip to the supermarket.

I like specialized too!

Have had success with Pearl Izumi gloves. Also had a great set of Mavic gloves that have lasted years. Would not recommend Sugoi, fell apart very quickly.

Giro Monaco, expensive certainly but very impressive, they seem to improve with use, that said my Prendas gloves, and a pair of Chiba have proved their worth as well. Altura I found basic and really quite uncomfortable, slid about all over the bars and seemed a bit cheap and nasty. From the marks on my glove palms,I seem to grip harder with my right hand than my left, probably we all do to some extent, dependent upon our favoured hand, but with the above gloves I dont seem to experience significant problems through either my hands or lower arms/elbows.

Specialized gel are good but my they get stinky quickly and there's no way of getting rid permanently. I'll only buy them again if heavily reduced as mine got whiffy in less than 3 months

Some Pearl Izumi gel ones went the same way

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Pop into Lloyds cycles, they had a selection of spesh gloves when i was looking and you can try them on.Might be worth lookign for some full finger gloves for later in the year.
I do have bad circulation in my hands so i had thin full finger gloves on at 6 am this morning .
