Oh, the old suspension forks, I thought that might be a problem. Any suggestions where some cheap rigid forks could be found? Are they universal?
Thanks,

If you swap the forks you'll need to make sure they have the right brake mounting (you probably have V brakes on your hybrid?), are the right steerer diameter (1" or 1 1/8"), the right steerer type (threaded or a-head), have a long enough steerer and are for the right size wheels.

Apart from that they're universal!^_^

Just swap out the tyres and she's a goodun.

My commute is 20 miles (often 22) I do it at least twice every week and for a couple of years did it on a fifteen year old MTB with front shocks.

did the job fine, I only upgraded swapped to a roadie in October of last year. I used to cruise at 20mph on the mtb and all I changed was the tyres.

here she is...
