I invented a new management/meeting cliche today:
"I'll sit on the flipchart".
We think it means waiting for a presentation to be made before making a decision - a bit like sitting on the fence but more informed.
Oh, and in case you wonder, I was literally sitting on a flipchart, we'd rescued a discarded A1 pad from a recycling box, and were keeping it in the cab to keep it dry. But the cab is rather small, and the pad had to sit on the passenger seat, as did I...
So, if anyone is in a very dull meeting and it feels appropriate as a phrase, please do use it.
