My speed is deceptive I'm slower than I look
Beautiful frame. I'm a big Mercian fan. Do you know what model it is?

I found out it is a Campionissimo thought it might be a King of Mercia model,
but looked on the rear drops and saw the name Campionissimo, I checked this with a local cycling legend and he confirmed it.

That's a lovely bike! Have to say, I'm with others on the rims and- particularly - the stem. Look on ebay for old quill stems - they come up all the time, for not a lot - but make sure you know what extension you want...it makes quite a difference. I'm sorry, tho' - that saddle! As someone said upthread, each to his own. But really. That's like mounting a Parker Knoll armchair in a Ferrari. But that is a sweet frame - well done.

Thanks its a lovely ride!
The stem and saddle and rims may not be everyones cup of tea but
I like the rims and the saddle is just too comfy, I will be looking to get a more suitable saddle,
and the stem will go eventually, cause I don't want to wiz on a classic!!!
this is my fun bike at the moment and I'm having a ball learning loads about bikes Fixed and in general
so don't worry re the stem etc its a big big work in progress on a supressed budget, and because of this the odd quirk may need to stay for the time being
watch it grow and evolve here
Thanks for all the feedback it is appreciated
