:hello: Richard McGlashan and :welcome: to CycleChat ! :wahhey:

You'll have noticed that there are quite a few CC folk from the right side of the border - though most that I know are more road- than mountain- oriented. Having said that, some of the 'roadies' :bicycle: have a habit of going up some fairly big mountains - but on the roads !

We've had a couple of CC Ecosse Forum rides round your way over the years, so keep an eye on this section and, should someone organise a ride near you, we'd love to meet you.

[There are 3 very important CC Ecosse 'rules' for all rides:
  1. No one gets left behind
  2. Any bike will do
  3. There will be CAKE :hungry: !]

lol.. thanks

cheers..don't own a road bike..hard work on a MTB doing that mileage... though I do over 40 miles a day off road when doing West Highland Way..

I can imagine, i've got a hybrid and it can be tuff keeping up with the lighter road bikes but nobody gets left behind on a forum ride and they are good fun also

Welcome! If you ever fancy some decent weather, there are miles of bridleways and hills round here for some amazing off road rides. Last week I did 23 miles off road from my back door without so much as seeing any tarmac, and as the trails are very dry this year despite all the rain it's a bit like cycling in France

I'd say about 40-60 miles is the usual CC ride :bicycle:
I'd say that is an over-estimate .

The ordinary CC Ecosse Forum Ride is probably <50km (with CAKE :hungry:) - it's just that, when Col (and Fubar) have done one, they have been a bit more 'specific', with fewer participants and more geared to what those actually riding wanted to do (RtForth, Kinross Sportive preview ... ^_^ )

IF we get round to organising a CC Ecosse Forum ride this year  (and the weather looks like it might be decent reasonable neither pouring :rain: nor windy ), it will not be 40-60 miles. (I can't do that far !!!)

I was only judging on what we had done so far  40 isnt too bad, anymore than that for me and i begin to struggle
