WORMS IN SPUDS?????
I feel a bit poorly now...................................................

No joke - you get all sorts of creepy crawlies in spuds i'm afraid Lisa.

Mostly its small slugs and the odd eelworm. Farmers spray against these pests so it's only home grown spuds that you have to watch.

Yes, I don't use any chemicals on my home-grown fruit & veg, so we do have to watch out for creepy crawlies. Aphids, caterpillars and small slugs are the usual suspects.

We dug up the first of our Sharpe's Express first earlies and some Mimi salad potatoes for tea tonight. They were lovely in a potato salad with gherkins, spring onions, dill and chervil and vinaigrette. Probably could have done with a little while longer in the ground but sometimes you just want to have some of your own veg, don't you?
