what do you IT bods think of this. all the reviews seem to suggest it will be OK .

my trusty Belkin 54G just can't keep up with the demands of a modern wireless house so will be adjusted into a 4 port switch with no wireless to keep the Tivo box and blu ray player hard wired

I take it you're on Fibre then?

I've always been happy to buy Asus and have bits of their networking kit around house, but I've always bought Netgear routers for home (their N900 model) - mainly because I've always found them reliable, with good signal strength.

Don't fancy (or want the expense of the AC1750 model then)?

can't justify the expense of the AC1750 for what extra it would give me.

Am on Virgin and when i use the wired connection I het great service , the belkin 54G is 10 Yrs old now and when on wireless the service is patchy despite changing the channel and updating the firmware.

I have the Asus RT-N65U, so the earlier version of the one you are looking at and it's pretty darn good. Improved my life with Virgin no end.
