New Saddle

Quick question - If I purchase a new saddle for my road bike do I need to get it fitted / set up by a LBS? When I bought my bike I got professionally fitted and want to make sure my saddle position is spot on... Or do I do it myself and try to replicate the position? Thoughts please.

If you measure the height and reach of the old one then just replicate that.

If you went into the lbs at a quiet time and bought the new one they may be willing to put it on for you but theres no saying they will be any more carefull than you would be.

You have to be careful if the new saddle does not replicate your setback from BB etc as i have found out today.
