New Showers woooo

Work have just put new showers in, they are lovely.

Only problem is, me and a few of the other cyclists left some stuff in there, mainly toiletries and a couple of bits of clothing, also I left a Radio in there for everyone to use.

Funny how all the cleaning gear made it from the old ones to the new ones but nobody's elses gear, somebody had to actually move our stuff to get at the rest but sent everything back with the old cabin !!!

Still, only use Sainsburys 69p Shower gel (its alright actually) but am gutted about the almost new can of deodorant, especially after some git nicked my last fresh can, brand new so I wrote my name all over the new one in permanent ink,

Found a battery CD played/tape/Radio at home and have plonked that in there so back to normal, took a full pack of six massive batteries, worth more than the radio !

Its funny how I can get upset about a few half empty toileteries and ratty old worthless tape player yet lose a fair few quid due on my meagre savings to the credit crunch and just think oh well !

We're not allowed to keep anything in our shower (which is separate from our loos), so I keep a washbag and towel on a rack in the Ladies. That way nothing gets nicked or used.

Our new building has 100 bike spaces and 3 showers (per sex). Not sure how many people cycle yet as the building is not fully occupied. Apparently there is a queue in the mornings.

For an office with 250+ staff, we have 4 Sheffield stands and 1 shower (per sex). Lucky it's only me than commutes in then

Really lucky where I am really, the old ones were ok, four showers for males, two per cabin, but they were a bit knackered, never really had all four working but the new ones have eight cubicles which I think is for the evening five a side brigade, usually I get them to myself but now I get the weather averse brigade muscling in, I can predict with about 90% accuracy who will be appearing based on the prevailing weather, hint of rain or todays rather impressive headwind then I get them to myself again.

I'm lucky enough to have the sole use of our shower room and although its very compact I can accomodate all my gear there - I tend to have a couple of base layers and a couple of jerseys there so I choose depending on the weather when I leave the office and I keep all my clothes there excpt for change over day (thurs eve/fri morn)

Maybe we should start a photo gallery of members' shower facilities, and see who has the best or worst .

I was looking for someone to take the photos for me while I 'showered' but there seemed to be few takers for what I thought was a great offer...

I don't even get facilities like that for my clothes at home !

I've got the 69p stuff only because they were out of the 13p stuff...trust me, the 13p stuff is fine too B)

Since my work has a large communal shower and it's in the changing room beside the gym, I'd probably get thumped if spotted trying to take pictures of the facilities !!

Of course, since I'm in there at 6.30am, there's usually a point when I'm alone in there....
