middle of nowhere in France
Hello recently started cycling 2 weeks ago, I am not a youngster LOL just a wobbly old lady on an old supermarket bike LOL but i'm loving it, only got up to about 16k so far (took about 70 mins) but up and down hills (or slopes to seasoned cyclists)
Roads are really bad here (rurual france) mostly potholes and very bumpy, so i am looking into saving for a better bike and also going to buy some cycling shorts or better saddle - how long before bum gets 'seasoned' lol

Welcome to the show. I reckon it took me about 150 miles to get used to the 'sporting' saddle on my new road bike. Little but often, ride wise should do the trick. By the way, I can't think the roads a la belle France could be any worse than they are here in the under funded UK!
