Hi

Bike: Rayleigh 700x23c Wheel,Full Shamino Breaks and Gears.

I am new to road bikes and riding on the busy roads of the UK.(How they have changed)

I commute to the station which is 3 Miles there and back in the Evening.

I have only justed started as of today and now looking forward to cutting the weight off and enjoying the riding.

I have agreed to do the London to Southend Bike ride in 2014 for Sick Children Trust for some friends and its a great cause.

I have always loved two wheels riding motorbikes most of my Life.(Present Bike Honda CB1300)

I Look forward to hearing/Reading all your advice and tales and Storys.

P.S How long does the Bum Hurt For xx

Simple answer the more you ride the less it hurts (bum)

Welcome to the forum!

Padded shorts help, but in the long run, and as tisssot pointed out, it comes down to the more you ride the less painful it becomes.

Welcome you have just joined the most addictive and potentially expensive pastime ever and that's just reading
CC :-)

Seriously enjoy it and get out there outside your commute too. Riding for pleasure is a great thing and you would be amazed what you see along the way.

Thanks for the Kind Welcome, I am now getting use to the Saddle and the Bum numb is now not lasting that long.
I am going to invest in a winter Hack over the next couple weeks because Rd bikes and salt and ice is not a good mix.
I will start my training from Thursday this week with a 10mile ride and then forward to 60mile for the London to Southend ride 2014.

The cost of things these days is a joke, but if want good and safe then you have to pay.

Thanks again Shifty

:welcome: - many of us, me included, use a road bike all year round. I do a 10+ mile commute each way on a Raleigh Airlite road bike.
