New Touring Bike! :)

Well, I've finally got myself a touring bike!

The woman who I bought it off threw in the panniers and racks for free, but took the saddle with her. It was a steal at $50.

I'm planning to equip it with a trunk bag, frame bag and then she'll be good go! Although at the moment, (if you could see how hard it was raining right now...) a tour isn't a possibility as the weather will only get worse. So, any serious tours will have to wait until next Spring.

And thus, I have six months of winter to prep me and the bike for some circum-provincial tours, and hopefully a cross-country sometime!

I'm unsure of the exact make, but I do know that it was made by Rensch - a Swiss bike manufacturer. Other specifics about the make of the bike itself, I have no idea.

Nonetheless, I am very, very pleased with it, she rides like a dream and the speed is incredible! So different from my Triumph MTB (which is now for sale). I've already hit 40 KM/H on the bugger! It's great!

It's just unfortunate that I can't really go on any serious touring with it - although I guess it's a good thing, it'll give me six months to prepare!

A very brief mention here. Not familiar with the brand myself but looks awesome and for what you paid you could easily upgrade any components you wanted to or not by the look of it! Enjoy, looks like would make a great Winter bike with the correct tyres for the conditions if you can't wait for Spring.

Planning a short two-night tour next weekend, if the weather's nice. Hoping to WarmShowers it, as I've yet to buy a tent! Ordered some cycling stuff off of MEC yesterday, awaiting their arrival sometime in the week.
