Hi
I've taken the plunge and decided to lose weight and have spent quite a bit of time on the internet looking at various types of bikes so much that my head hurts.
I'm quite a big guy weighing in at 19 stone and 5ft 9 so I need something that's going to be comfortable and take my weight. Looking at the different types of bike I think that a Hybrid would suit me best as to start off I will probable just go around parks, country parks and down by the canals and some road riding.
Ive had a look at various shops but finding it hard to make a decision as originally I was looking at a Specialized Hardrock which is a mountain Bike but then after reading up think I would be better with a Hybrid. The Giant range looking at reviews seem to be quite sturdy and the ones Ive seen are the Giant Escape 3, Giant Roam 3 and Giant Roam 4.
Ive not been on a bike for about 20 years so I need to get back into the swing of things Budget wise Im looking at around £400 then obviously will need accessories on top.
If anyone has any thoughts or advice I would really appreciate it.
Andy

Depends whether you think the suspension is needed, i.e. how rough will the terrain be, will you also want to go on roads where the suspension could be disadvantageous
