Hi there

I'm just getting back into cycling and am looking for a mid range folding bicycle for commuting into work (plus the odd bit of weekend riding).

So far I've been looking at Kansi and Brompton. Any suggestions?

Many thanks

Can you give a bit more detail about your commute - distance, terrain, busy city roads/quiet roads etc - and why you want it to be a folder. There are many different folders out there and each has it's strengths and weaknesses. For example the Brompton is by far the best and most compact at folding but has limited gears if it's hilly.

A few extra details will help you get better recommendations: Why do you need a folder? will you be taking it on public transport? will you need to carry the bike frequently? How much storage space do you have? (do you want it to fit under your desk etc.)

hi, iIdon't know much about bikes (!) but I bought a Dahon Speed D7 on ebay a few days ago and it's a stunner! Second hand, £150. I wanted a cheapo one, but also a good model, as my job is only temporary and I'm not sure if I will be able to keep up the commuting. If it goes well for me, next year I'll upgrade to a Brompton! Good luck! x

The usual 3 are Brompton, Dahon and Mezzo. Try to ride all three if possible.

I settled on a Mezzo as preference, don't just buy a Brompton because everyone else does. Buy the bike that feels best for you.
