Hi All,

My name is Jon, if you are confused by my username, then it is football related, I support my beloved Yeovil Town FC. I am from South Somerset originally, bur moved to Bristol last February and now live just outside in Almondsbury, South Gloucestershire.

Been cycling on and off for a couple of years, firstly on a Specialized Hardrock 2008 MTB, but was loaned a 1990's Peugeot roadbike from my father-in-law to see if I would enjoy longer distance cycling, of which I did and shortly after found myself a bargain on wiggle for a 2009 Focus Cayo 105.

Took a year out, mainly due to new job, move to Bristol but I had always been a keen runner so kept on running and joined Thornbury Running Club, which lasted all of 2 weeks til Jan this year when I succombed badly to "runners knee", fortunately I get no pain at all from cycling so got hard into it again in Jan and last weekend completed my first ever audax a 110km event from Exeter, Devon called the Mad March 100, which I absolutely loved and have entered into another audax next month and joined Audax UK.

I currently just cycle by myself, being new to the area, but a couple of guys from Thornbury RC cycle on Sundays, so am going to pop along next week.

Random facts about me: - Got married in December 2010, am a grumpy old man, but only 22 years old.

Hi, I'm also a South Gloucestershire resident, living in Emersons Green, I have good access to the Bristol-Bath cyclepath and the cotswold ridge via Yate/Chipping , I'm not the most prolific cyclist, I tend to choose swimming or staying in bed over cycling, but I've registered for a few sportives this year and my first one is coming in April.

Welcome to the forums G.F. I am also a recent recruit to audax.

Did the Snowdrop and Gospel Pass rides so far. The south Gloucester 100km audax is happening in may starting in Alveston. Are you doing it?

Hi to both,

Banjo, I only live 3 miles from Alveston so already have that audax in my diary. So am pretty much 90% certain to be entering it. Have just entered the Merry Monk 100km Audax starting at High Ham on 3rd April. Aiming to do 1 audax a month at least!
