I have just got a second hand hybrid-road bike to begin my cycling career (I hope!) which came with a relatively new wedge bag from topeak. I have started putting stuff in, just need some help

I am looking for a cheap multi tool for bikes - I can always upgrade to more Gucci kit later in life. I am also looking for a chain tool (either in the multi tool, or external). Ideally I would like them to be as lightweight as possible.

I have also considered getting a mini pump or CO2 - the latter will fit in the saddlebag, I doubt I can get a pump that small! Any ideas....never used the CO2, so not sure on weight.

What are people's opinions on tyre repair kits? I have got a spare tube, but for a backup. I have a small box with chalk and glue etc, but have seen the self adhesive ones which could be better (I assume!). Which would you recommend?

Thank you

Aldi's commuter cycling event coming up on the 7th July, their multitool is perfectly adequate imo.
Chain tool: this one or this one - I've got both, actually prefer the cheaper one.
Patches: everybody on here swears by the Park Tool ones.
Pump: cannot advise, if I'm riding long distances I have this in my back basket

Plenty of good multi-tools about, I like this one, which has a chain-tool built in. Also worth carrying a spare quick-link.

Spare tube and Park patches will be enough unless you are very unlucky!

There are plenty of very small pumps about that will fit into a wedge bag. They're never going to be as good as a track pump, but they'll do a good enough job to get you home.

You can guarrantee that if you carry CO2 thsn th anumber of punctures on a trip will always be one more than the number of CO2 cyclinders.

A good pump is a woethwhile investment

Punctures are largely the province of roadies who run narrow tyres which weigh ridiculously little.

As a hybrid rider, if you fit decent, puncture resistant tyres you are unlikely to suffer flats.

There's only three words you need to remember.

Thank you! I have found myself a mini pump that fits into my saddlebag - although I don't have the bike - but just ordered a replacement saddle clip. I have also managed to get everything I need bar spare tubes or chain links but will wait until it get a new bike
