Also try the town moor as there's a big hopping fair show there right now, biggest in europe and well worth a visit (with a second mortgage of course)

You may find the toon a bit quiet on a Sunday, but there are some Nice Bars and Resturants around the Quayside. Try walking up Dean St and go in some of the bars along Mosley St towards Central Station.

not really much going on mid week in town? I think your best bet would be to explore the surrounding areas? Get the train to Wylam and go for a couple of pints in the Boat House pub next to the station, world famous and won pub of the year again this year. Beer garden all day tomorrow then train back to town for dinner at piccolinos.
