I had to ride without my Joystick head-light this evening, riding only with the bike-mounted lights and, oh my, what a difference that makes.

I usually have a powerful light on the bars, to show stuff which is in front of the bike, and on my head, to show stuff where I'm looking. If riding up a foot bridge, for instance, this means I can look up beyond the next 180 degree turn, whilst still being able to see what's in front of the bike.

I had forgotten how much better a powerful head torch makes night riding.
