No more commuting...

...for me for a couple of weeks, which is a shame as I've really been enjoying the commute following the bad weather.

Most drivers have been excellent with only one muppet from yesterday (repeat offender which I will try and upload), spoiling the fun.

Oh well, in compensation I am off to Boston for a course. I hear that it's a cycle friendly city, so I'll be interested to see what it is like, although no cycling for me, I fear (far too busy!!). I'll be trying to pop down to the hotel gym every morning to keep myself ticking over. I suppose I could bring some of my videos of my commute to play whilst on the exercise bike.


Oh and before anyone suggests it, the NHS is not paying for this course. Not a hope of that!!

When working in San Francisco (for 3 months) , I bought a used Trek for $100 from a cycle rental shop. The busses have a pull down cycle carrier and with a fare of $1.10 for any journey it was fab.
And bonus, the company allowed me to expense the bike. wish I had bought a new one!

I worked in Boston 10 years ago, bought a rubbish MTB ($98 I recall) and cycled all over the place. I even went to Harris Cyclery and met Sheldon Brown, may he RIP. Lots of cycle paths (along the Charles river and the Minuteman trail in particular).

I'd see if cycling to/from work in Boston is possible, no more difficult that in the UK.

Bostonians are the most British of Americans, similar('ish) sense of humour, easy to get along with and they just love their Red Sox. Have a great time.

I'm just here on a course, and the course is held in a building 100m away from my hotel. A little short for a cycle!

Despite the snow and cold, there are a fair few cyclists out and about. I'm not sure I'd be fussed cycling here though.....there are no hills, far too easy!
