I bought Mousetrap for the annual Christmas game. What a disappointment!

It has been 'improved' by adding two more traps and complicating the game play. The offspring hated assembling it, one of the traps was unreliable and the game was abandoned after a dozen throws of the dice.

It promised so much and delivered so little.

Frustration would have been a better game name but it's already been taken.

It's making a journey to the charity shop ASAP.

I'm surprised it's still around as it was never good!

I used to enjoy Mousetrap as a kid along with other games like Buckaroo, Escalado etc, but stuff moves on and expectations (especially of kids) is so much higher now.

Try getting a kid who's played FIFA12 interested in playing subbuteo.

My kids (now aged 18,21,and 23) can make their own improvised entertainment from a whole range of household items e.g. anti-spatter guard tennis using silicon spatter guards and a ball of tin foil and love board games especially at Christmas. They would have loved the Moustrap of the past for its simplicity. They, and I, lost interest during the construction of the game and lost the will to live after around three throws each.

Sometimes more is less.

Can you still get the Operation game?
It wasn't long before the little bones went missing.
