I was going through the country lanes of Harpenden. I heard a beep I turned around and it was some lads around 18 to 20 years old driving a Corsa with blacked out windows. I moved out the way (to the left of the road) and they passed slowly and wide once they passed they put there hazard warning lights to say thank you.

Any other cyclist who gets beeped would flip the finger and shout abuse.

Respect works both ways

I normally spot the car coming and allow it to pass (if safe) before they felt the need to honk at me

Likewise today. Noodling through Cannock Chase and aware of car behind me on a narrow section. It waited patiently and soon as I could I waved him past. Got a toot and a massive wave from a young lad in a slammed and blinged Golf.
